ECC 2009

Dear Visitor,
The ECC Committee is proud to welcome you at the website for the ECC 2009.

The race results and the overall rankings for ECC 2009 can now be viewed in the Results section.

The ECC fleet regrouped, as racing came to a close, for the Prize Giving Party at Son Termes country house on the outskirts of Palma, Mallorca. Approximately 375 sailors attended the evening at which fine food, drinks and entertainment were served up.

The 2009 Commodore Craig Warrender presented the Overall Winners Trophy to Klaus Huetten, the new Commodore for 2010. We wish Klaus (below) and his crew all the best and good luck as the organisers for the next ECC event.

Once again thanks to the Organising Committee, Sponsors, Skippers and the crews who have all contributed to making ECC 2009 a great success.

The ECC fleet (375 sailors) gathered in Palma, Mallorca on Saturday 2nd May for the Welcome Party at the Real Club Nautica sponsored by the Main Sponsor CB&I.

Racing started on Sunday with a Westward course from Palma to San Telmo. Good winds and sunny weather were present throughout the Day 1 race.

We now have only 2 weeks to go!!

If anyone can advise details of good national dance type music (German/Dutch/Spanish/Italian etc etc) which we could compile for ECC 2009 then please send details, and if possible links or mp3’s, to dsecc2009@yahoo.co.uk

Please note: These files are low resolution. A high resolution hard copy, including Crew, Sponsor and Charity Presentations, will be forwarded to Skippers shortly.

Attached for your convenience is a copy of the revised 2009-2012 Sailing Rules (internet downloaded for ECC 2009 use only, so hopefully no copyright issues).

All skippers must familiarise themselves with the key points of the new rules.

We are pleased to introduce the ECC 2009 Logo.

The purple and black colours are symbols of Mallorca.

The castle represents Almudaina Castle, in Palma de Mallorca, the capital city of the Balearic Islands. This was the royal castle of Mallorcan kings.

The yellow and red colours are symbols of the original kingdoms of Spain.
